Privacy policy

Last updated:

This page explains how GeoColour handles personal information for the website and the iOS app. It is written in plain language and is not legal advice.

The website (including mailing-list and notification features) and the iOS app are separate. Website submissions are covered in the website sections below. App behaviour is covered in the iOS app section.

Website and mailing list

The following sections apply to information submitted through geocolour.app, including the launch notification form.

What we collect

GeoColour collects an email address only when you voluntarily submit the notification form. We do not ask for your name, location, phone number or advertising identifiers on this site.

How we use your email

Your email is used to send launch and occasional product updates about GeoColour. We do not sell email addresses. We do not use the mailing list for third-party advertising.

Where data is processed

Form submissions are processed and stored using Cloudflare infrastructure, including Cloudflare Pages Functions and Cloudflare D1.

Bot protection

This site uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated abuse of the notification form. Turnstile may process technical information as described in Cloudflare’s own documentation and privacy materials.

What we do not store with your signup

Retention and deletion

We keep your email while the launch list remains relevant. You can request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].

GeoColour iOS App

The GeoColour iOS app does not require users to create an account.

The current version of the app does not collect, store or transmit personal information, usage analytics, advertising identifiers or location information.

The app does not contain advertising or third-party tracking technologies.

Munsell colour data is bundled with the app. Searches, palette selections and other app interactions are processed locally on the user’s device and are not transmitted to GeoColour.

GeoColour does not receive information about the colours users view, search for or select.

If a user contacts GeoColour for support, they voluntarily provide the information included in their email or support request. This information will only be used to respond to the request, investigate the reported issue and improve the service where appropriate. Support requests are handled separately from the website mailing list.

The GeoColour website and its mailing-list or notification features are separate from the iOS app. Information submitted through the website remains subject to the website-related sections of this privacy policy.

If future versions of the app introduce analytics, accounts, cloud synchronisation, crash reporting or other network-based features, this privacy policy will be updated before or when those features are introduced.

Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated as GeoColour approaches and after release. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
